Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Leuven Bears (12-12) were edged at home by third ranked Kangoeroes (18-6) 93-90 on Wednesday. American guard Trenton Gibson (193-2000, college: Indiana St.) stepped up and scored 32 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Aundre Hyatt (198-2000, college: Rutgers) chipped in 22 points. At the losing side American guard Noah Freidel (193-2000, college: JMU) responded with 20 points and center Roby Rogiers (205-1997) scored 16 points. Four Leuven players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Mechelen maintains third place with 18-6 record having just two points less than leader Oostende. Leuven lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with ZZ Leiden.
